SVERRE FEHN PASSES ON

Venice biennale pavilion 1962 - Restoration 2008

Sverre Fehn died at the age of 84. Feb 23, 2009. Having lived in Norway, I met Fehn once, he was truly an elegant gentleman, for a young architect it was something to remember.

Fehn is one of the few Architects that I have encountered that had a deep understanding of both scale and the detailing of buildings. In 1997 he was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, which is often referred to as the “the profession’s highest honor”.

He will be missed by many.
